Actually, there are many reasons why echos can happen during a telephone
conversation, especially during a wireless telephone conversation. It's
not even always the telephone handset that causes this. The Wikipedia
has a nice short article about this with great cross references at:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Echo_cancellation

Here are some suggested strategies for dealing with echo when it happens
to you on your Owasys 22C:

1.)	Keep talking for another 10-15 seconds or so. Talk continuously,
not in short bursts. Don't just say "hello" and wait. That doesn't help
the technology figure out how to cancel echos. You want to give it a
nice sequence of sound to work with.

2.)	If that doesn't help, try hanging up and calling back. If the
problem is in the telephone network, as it surely could be, this is the
only way to clear the problem.

3.)	If you're in Hands Free Mode, switch to Handset Mode. Then
repeat step #1 to give Handset Mode a chance to adapt to the new
conditions.

4.)	Move. Find another spot to stand. Ask the person you're calling
to move a few feet, if they can. Echo is very often an accoustic
problem, and changing the environment slightly can provide dramatic
improvements.

PS: To the person who mentioned they experienced this same problem in
Jacksonville ...

If you mean at our booth in the ACB Convention, let me explain that your
call was made in Hands Free Mode. There would have been no other way,
frankly, in that noisy environment--no way to hear anyone in Handset
Mode. I personally observed several phone calls made, at our suggestion,
by prospective customers from our booth. Some people did indeed
experience echo, but many others did not. In all cases, you used one of
our personal phones, the very same 22C units that Steve, Janina, and
Judy use every day.
